About me
Hi. I'm Maria. I offer psychotherapy and counselling in Chiswick, Clapham and online.
Sometimes the ways we have learned to survive begin to feel like the very things that keep us stuck. Old patterns repeat, closeness can feel difficult, or something in our lives quietly asks to be understood. Therapy can offer a space to slow down and explore these experiences within a relationship that is thoughtful, steady, and real.
I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. Many of the people I meet in my practice are trying to make sense of how earlier experiences continue to shape their relationships and sense of self today. Many are living with the impact of early relational trauma — including neglect, abuse, or environments where they had to adapt in order to cope.
I have particular experience in working with people living with the effects of trauma, and welcome work with strong or complex emotional experiences (including borderline and other personality 'disorders'). I aim to meet these with steadiness, curiosity, and care.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a humanitarian practitioner supporting people across cultures living with trauma, loss, and grief. This experience continues to inform my practice today.
I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels thoughtful, steady, and engaged, where even complex or painful experiences can be explored safely and without judgement.
